Housing Co-op needed in Venables Valley

Calling all those interested in a developing a housing co-op in the valley. We can pool our existing equipment and skills and start a home manufacturing facility. We can build custom made domes, log homes and yurts.

Our first initiative will be a demonstration yurt. Then we will create a large bio-dome for the head quarters of for the Housing Cooperative.

The Cooperative will film the setting up the homes. This video will be included in a product offering with the materials required to build a dome/yurt and have it installed by the members of our Co-op. The video will also be shown on the website. Overtime, other co-housing facilities and services will also be offered.

Geodesic Domes can be used for events, shelter systems, greenhouses, playgrounds and more.

Yurts
A yurt is a circular, domed structure. Many modern enthusiasts, mostly based in the U.S., have used the name "yurts" for some of their round huts as well. Although those structures may be copied to some extent from the originals found in Central Asia, they have been greatly changed and adapted and are in most cases very different.

In North America yurts are made using hi-tech materials. They are highly engineered and built for extreme weather conditions. In addition, erecting one can take days and they are not intended to be moved often.

In Europe, most yurt makers are making adaptations of Mongolian and Central Asian styled yurts from local hardwoods. These yurts may have been adapted for a wetter climate with steeper roof profiles and waterproof canvas. In essence they are yurts but many lack the felt cover that is present in traditional yurt.
